My name is Ale and CÚMULO is the project through which I capture one of the most eventful and important days a person can experience in their lifetime.


For me, weddings are this peculiar moment in time where a great deal of special elements converge; the improbable and eclectic mix of all your loved ones, together at the same place at the same time, probably for the first and only time ever. All while pouring a massive amount of love and good vibes towards you and your partner.


It’s a once in a lifetime thing and it’s freaking special.

 

After 7 years doing this and after having captures 100+ weddings, I can attest: there are never two weddings alike…and that is was drives me to give it my all to every new wedding 💪

My work consists on keeping my eyes wide open and finding all those little things that make your wedding unequivocally yours. The subtle moments, small gestures…the people that did whatever it took to be there alongside with you…my job is to gather all those elements that form the cumulus that is YOUR story.

First of all, I can’t tell you how much we love the photos you took. You have captured our precious moments so beautifully. All those cute little smiles and looks. Both Parry and I are raving about how talented you are- photos that are representing real moments and they are also technically so amazing. The way you play with light and movement is just wow. It was worth every moment we tortured Parry to stay still and keep smiling despite how tired and hungry he was. Hehehehehe We feel so lucky we had you in NYC. We have memories at all those places. I am now running at Columbia in the evenings and the photos come to my mind.


It was so great to meet back in CDMX and then hang out together again in NYC. Besides our photographer, you are now our marriage witness. We are bonded forever. You and Cacha are two amazing human beings and we can’t wait for the next opportunity to spend time all together. We will definitely let you know when in Mexico City. FAQ

Where are you based?

I am based in Mexico City, and able to move wherever you need me to ;)

Most of the weddings I shoot are outside my city so I'm used to travelling for weddings & work. FYI, I am fluent in english (and currently tackling Japanese 101) and have a passport & USA Visa.

We're planning our wedding/session outside Mexico City. Do you charge travel expenses?

For one-day-events within the Mexico City/ Valle de Bravo/Cuernavaca/Tepoztlán area, travel cost is already included.

For events in other areas, as well as multi-day events, a travel fee will be added.

What do you need from us?

First and foremost: your trust.

I need you to know that I dislike applying "formulas" and that I treat each wedding is an active effort to find a unique way to do things.

I believe that documenting a wedding requires a highly personal component, that is why I place a lot of importance in getting to know you and what's important to you; that will impact, in great measure, the ways in which I'll tell your story.

And lastly, do know that your wedding photos are 100% the result of a collaboration between us; I, if alone, can only add the technical component and my best intentions, but it is thanks to you, to your trust, to your willingness that the photos you'll see will have substance. Heart.

How would you define your style? How do you work?

First and foremost, I like pictures to feel alive ✨ It's not about making "wedding portraits"; it's about capturing YOU, being able to portray the real you. You as individuals, as a couple, as people in love: Ecstatic, nervous, excited and all the feelings that may come.

I believe people are more beautiful when they aren't trying to be so. Thus, I like to capture you without a lot of posing (sometimes just a bit). My intention is to capture your spontaneous selves and create photos that convey emotion. I aim to make you feel in good hands, as I will make sure to find the rights angles and guide you so that you look your best while you're busy feeling the moment.

My dynamic at the wedding changes depending on the situation. My approach is that I adapt depending on what the different stages of the wedding require of me. If I believe some minor fixes can contribute to having a better experience and photos I will communicate it to you, otherwise I won't interfere in how the day develops. On the other hand, at the reception I like to interact with the guests a bit more so that they open themselves to me and my camera.

How many photos do you deliver?

So, A LOT of stuff happens at weddings.

In addition to focusing on you, the couple, I also like to tell the story of your wedding day from the perspective of the friends and family. Because of this, I don't hold a maximum limit of photos.

I'm a firm believer in quality over quantity and even so, since weddings tend to be so eventful, I've found that my usual average lies between 750-950ish. It all depends on how each wedding develops.

As for the minimum, I state in my contract that you will receive at least 50 photos per hour of coverage. So if your wedding coverage was 10 hours, you can expect a minimum of 500.

All of what you get is carefully chosen. And also, it's important to mention that I hand edit each and every picture I deliver.

Do you shoot video?

For couples looking for a look & feel similar to mine, I usually team up with some great wedding videography colleagues whose work I admire and feel that you guys would feel connected to as well. For more info on this please contact me :)

What is your typical turnaround time?

For Weddings:
The week following your wedding, I will send you a sneak peek 👁️ with some of the most memorable moments of the day. For the full gallery, as you may suspect, both the culling and editing processes require thorough attention to detail. The hundreds of moments captured in the photos you'll receive have been carefully selected and hand-edited 📸 It takes me approximately 10-12 weeks to be able to properly perform these processes and share the results with you! 🤍✨

For Save the Date Sessions:
Within the next 24-48 hours following your session I'll be sending you a few highlights so that you can tell the world your big news! For the full gallery, It takes me approximately 3-4 weeks to be able to properly cull and carefully edit your full session! 💖

What payment methods do you take?

• I ask for a 25% deposit and a signed contract to secure the date.

• The remaining 75% is to be covered 2 weeks prior to the wedding/session.

• All prices are in MXN.

• Payment can be made with: bank transfer, credit card via stripe, or remitly.

I'm thrilled! The next thing is to get to know each other a bit more! If you're in town we can go get coffee, if we're not in the same area, we can get on zoom and talk you through your wedding questions as well as getting to know each other in general non-wedding related stuff.

As for formalities, your date is secured with a 25% deposit and signing an electronic contract.
